SCREENINGS
HIV/Sexually Transmitted Disease Screening First and third Thursdays of each month, ACC Suite 210 (NARH Campus), 1:00 p.m. Pre-registration required: 413-447-2654
HIV/STD and Hepatitis C testing is available on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 1:00 p.m., in Suite 210 of the Ambulatory Care Center on the NARH campus. Confidential and anonymous. Those wishing to be tested should call 413-447-2654 for an appointment.

Six week courses cover all aspects of pre-natal nutrition and exercise, breathing techniques, labor and delivery, and infant care, plus a tour of the NARH Birthing Center. Call 664-5128 for more information.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

This course focuses on healthcare providers who respond to cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies. Students will be taught the skills needed for adult, child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), the recognition and treatment of choking and safety factors and actual rescue.
First Aid with CPR and AED

The Heartsaver First Aid with CPR class is designed for those who want or need CPR with the added benefit of basic skills in First Aid. The course is taught in one day and students will be certified for two years. This course may be valid for those who need to be certified in CPR (daycare providers, life guards, medical assistants).
Tobacco Treatment Programs

REACH for Community Health sponsors programs and initiatives with the goals of preventing area residents from taking up smoking or to assist smokers in quitting. Smoking and/or chewing tobacco is both a habit and an addiction. REACH addresses these factors in its programming.
SUPPORT GROUPS
Eileen Barrett Women’s Cancer Support Group
Open to all women who are in active treatment or recently recovered from cancer. Meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Ground Floor of North Adams Regional Hospital. Information/Registration for next date: 413-664-5170
The Eileen Barrett Women’s Cancer Support Group meets once a month at the Clark House Building on the North Adams Regional Hospital Campus. The first hour of the meeting features relaxation, stress management and other complementary care modalities. A short break with light snacks follows the first hour. The second hour is a support group session offered in a confidential setting. The group is open to any woman in active treatment for cancer or recently recovered.
Alzheimer’s Information and Support Group at VNA/Hospice of Northern Berkshires
Support Group for family, friends and caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s and related Dementia
