The Joint Replacement Center of Northern Berkshire brings a whole new aspect to total hip and knee replacement surgery. Our "Joint Venture" class brings patients together with caregivers before surgery, to make sure you're as knowledgeable as possible. The class covers all aspects of pre- and post-surgical care, and you'll meet some of the staff who will be with you on the day of surgery and afterwards.

Joint replacement surgery is performed by the orthopedic surgeons of Orthopedic Associates of Northern Berkshire: Jonathan Cluett, MD, Suk Namkoong, MD, and James Whittum, MD.
The Joint Replacement Center of Northern Berkshire at North Adams Regional Hospital offers an entirely new “concierge” approach to joint replacement. Our goal is to provide outstanding personalized, compassionate care close to home. We’ll get you up and healing quickly, with as little pain as possible – and with maximum satisfaction.
At the Joint Replacement Center of Northern Berkshire, you get:
- A focus on education and patient empowerment to ensure the best possible outcomes
- Comprehensive patient education materials
- Evidence-based pathways
- Special education of nursing and physical therapy staff to speed recovery, including a focus on getting you back on your feet the day of surgery
- Continuity of care to allow patients to move seamlessly from hospital to post-discharge care
- “Concierge service” so you have a single phone number or e-mail address to get answers to your questions
We use DePuy hip and knee implants, which are known for their outstanding quality and durability. In fact, studies have demonstrated these implants have exceptional longevity over several decades.Besides full and partial joint replacement, we are also performing hip resurfacing – the first practice in Berkshire County to offer that service. Hip resurfacing caps the damaged surface of the ball, rather than removing the ball altogether, leaving more bone intact. This can be a good solution for younger patients.
Ready to be Active Again
